Michael L. Glassman, MD
Dr. Michael L. Glassman is a plastic surgeon specializing in the face and eyelids, with dual training and expertise in plastic surgery and ophthalmology.
Selected in 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Glassman’s background makes him exceptionally qualified to work directly on and around the eye area. Due to years of specialized training, Dr. Glassman has access to a broader range of advanced microsurgical techniques than a general plastic surgeon.
Dr. Glassman’s trademark procedures include lower eyelid lifts with no visible scars, and upper eyelid lifts that may include an actual gentle elevation of the eyelid itself to create a more natural and open appearance to the eye. Dr. Glassman’s philosophy does not seek to radically change facial appearance, but rather to impart a more natural, youthful look.
The recipient of numerous awards and honors, Dr. Glassman is a noted national and international guest speaker. An author of numerous scientific articles and papers, Dr. Glassman has extensive experience in this specialized surgical field including the latest, advanced techniques in cosmetic, microsurgical, laser, tumor, and reconstructive surgery.
A former Olympic-class swimmer at the University of Florida, Dr. Glassman received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Florida. He served an Internship in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, and matriculated his ophthalmology residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He then was one of a select few in the nation to complete a two-year fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
A dedicated international medical volunteer and former Peace Corps physician, Dr. Glassman is board-certified and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
